XOIS is a mutlimedia artist who had owned a small boutique off CORONA call MACHO SISSY. It had some dope stuff that I remember being really stoked on. He was just a straight up artistic soul.
XOIS was also a very prolific musician. He was extremely obessesed with BOWIE and had a very strong DEVINE like personality that was all over the place energetically. He could drink phemonial amounts of VODKA CRAN, or anything really until he became a PSYCOTIC GG ALLIN like man.
XOIS would often bring his demos of new songs to the club I played at. He would usually show up very hammered and dressed in some outlandish outfit he'd obviously spent considerable effort to concoct. These demo CD's would go stait into the mix and I would always insist on the room being packed so we could really feel the repsonse together.
I have some very strong memories of particuar tunes brought me really making the room blow up or just filling in the sonic soup I was cooking up. He never asked for the discs he brought back and gave them to me as private stuff between us.
In the late part of 2017 I found several of these demo CD's in my achive. I ripped them and realized that I had the opportunity to share his music again even though he left us in 2009.
XOIS work is filthy, sexy, loving crafted and exretemly indicative of his own voice. I miss my dear friend greatly and wish that he chose not to drink himself to death. BUT we can all listen to his work still and celebrate the person we miss and love so much.
